Dear Parents,

The Scantron test results will be sent home this week with the students.

Starting this Thursday, 10/12 at 2:45PM, our parents who show up early for carpool will be invited to participate in a carpool rosary. The rosary will be offered for the intentions of our school and the personal intentions of the parents participating in the prayer. The rosary will be prayed in the parish courtyard, by the statue of our Lady of Guadalupe.

In an effort to attract and train the best teaching talent in the Diocese, we continue to foster and expand our partnerships with a select group of premier teacher prep programs in Virginia (George Mason, JMU, Marymount and Christendom). I am pleased to announce that we will be hosting a student teacher from Marymount University. Ms. Amanda Flores will be joining our instructional team this week and will be working with Mrs. Vanderhoof. Mrs. Vanderhoof will be providing more information on this program to her parents this week.
You are invited to a PVI Carpool coffee event on Thursday, October 26th at 8:00 am in the McGivney Room.

We are in need of a parent volunteer to coordinate Phase One of our planting garden initiative. If you have a green thumb and would like to lead this initiative, please contact Kathy Moses in our school office. We would like to start the planting process in two weeks.

Students should now be wearing their traditional uniforms.

making blankets
Sacred Life Advisory is making fleece blankets for the  Fairfax County Hypothermia Prevention Program as well as the Katherine Hanley Family Shelter. Each week they are inviting another advisory to join them, to train them, and send them off with fleece to make their own blankets.  We hope to work our way through 20 bolts of fleece!
nurses corner
Just a reminder this week from the clinic that ALL medications, including any creams, lotions, cough drops etc., MUST be brought in to the clinic by parents, labeled and with the appropriate paperwork. Medication authorization forms for over-the-counter medication can be found on our website.

Please consider completing a form and bringing in medication if your child is prone to headaches, cramps, stomach aches, or has braces that cause pain, and who would benefit from medication given in school. No medication is allowed to be carried by students in their backpacks unless approved by the nurse.

Thank you so much, have a wonderful week!
Many Blessings,
Julianne Duffy, RN, BSN
Mary K. Rogowski, RN, FNP, MSN

blood drive

 Hello STS!

I need your help!  A single pint of blood can save up to three lives, and blood can only come from human donors.  Unfortunately, only 37% of the population is eligible to donate blood and sadly, only 3% does.  Will you be part of the 3%?

To be eligible to donate, you must be in generally good health, be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds.  People are eligible to give blood every 56 days.  There are also travel restrictions and more specific criteria can be found here:  eligibility requirements .
Appointments are strongly preferred and can be made at this linkDonate Blood . Unfilled appointments can be filled by drop-ins, but can't be guaranteed. I can make an appointment for anyone who emails me their preferred time at
Please make an appointment, forward this email, bring a friend and help save lives.  Thank you.
