Felician Village: In 2011, country music icon Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Prior to his death in 2017, he filmed a documentary about how this diagnosis affected his everyday life, his final tour and his fans. Felician Village's Dementia Center of Excellence will be showing this documentary in two parts, April 17 and April 24, with discussion time following each session. Shady Lane (Laurel Grove Assisted Living) is Manitowoc County's only private not-for-profit, citizen-directed care center. Manitowoc Public Library: In celebration of National Poetry Month, "Poetry: Alive & Well & Living in Manitowoc!" will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 14, at Manitowoc Public Library. Ten community leaders will read their favorite poems and 10 local poets will partner with them to read original works they wrote in response. Jessica Van Slooten and Emilie Lindemann, English professors from UW-Manitowoc and Silver Lake College, will introduce the 10 teams.
