Legislators Visit Center for Student Success
The Center for Student Success (CSS) in Addison, along with Regional Superintendent Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, was pleased to host five area legislators for a breakfast and tour of the Center.
Sen. James Oberweiss (Dist. 25), Rep. Terra Costa Howard (Dist. 48), Rep. Diane Pappas (Dist.45), Rep. Deanne Mazzochi (Dist.47), and Rep. Michelle Mussman (Dist. 56) heard first-hand from students about the positive changes they had personally experienced as a result of attending the program.
The CSS houses four DuPage County educational programs: Partners for Success, a Regional Safe School led by Principal Anthony Crespo; ALOP (Alternative Learning Opportunity Program), led by Kathy Ekstrand; as well as Rebound and Launch.
Dr. Ruscitti and the staff shared how state grants are benefiting students facing suspension, expulsion, or who are in need of an alternative learning environment.
The ROE wants to thank these legislators for their interest and continued support of DuPage County schools—and for visiting the CSS during a very busy holiday season.
