Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Known for its daily news app popular with young adults, theSkimm is an American media company that focuses on a short, simple, easy-to-read way to learn about the news and current events. Many people could use a short, simple, easy-to-understand way to learn about the Bible as well. In the next 7 weeks, we will "skim" the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, looking at how to read it, understand it, and learn about its people and themes. Most importantly, as you gain new insights, you'll be inspired by the Scriptures and their meaning for your life today. If you're simply curious about the Bible or if you're a long-time believer, this series will strengthen your faith and help the Word come alive to you in ways you won't soon forget!

This Sunday's sermon title is " The Law: Start Here," by Rev. Steve Price, and will cover Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy. At the 8:15 service, Rabbi Michael Joseph from Temple Shir Shalom will be sharing in a dialogue with Steve about the role and importance of the first 5 books of the Hebrew scriptures.
Mission Box
This week's Mission Box is for Mercy Chefs.  Principally focused on providing disaster relief, their team regularly responds to national emergencies and natural disasters at home and abroad. In addition to emergency response, they make use of their equipment, skills, and volunteers by meeting existing needs within urban communities, establishing permanent kitchens in places with ongoing hardship, and installing water purification systems for communities without access to potable water. (text 2 give keyword: mercy)

Rose Morris will share her testimony about her nephew's courageous battle with pediatric cancer and the miracles her family experienced through his entire journey and beyond.

Volunteers Needed
For a child who needs encouragement at school, having a mentor means that student -
* is 50% less likely to skip a day of school,
* is over 50% more likely to aspire for college, &
* is over 100% more likely to be a positive leader in a sport or club!
Do you have 30 minutes a week during lunch to come and be an "encourager" for a student? SMILE is a Faith Mission, Greenhouse Church, and Rawlings Elementary partnership to support and encourage students who may most benefit.  Could you be one of the 40 encouragers to begin this month?
Forty-five minute orientations will be held at Rawlings on September 12 at 1:45pm, September 13 at 12pm, and September 20 at 12:30pm. The kickoff luncheon will also be at Rawlings on September 20 at 11:30am. Please email the SMILE team for more information or call Ward (352-416-3050).  SMILE needs you!
Volunteers Needed
If you have a heart for service and a few hours free once a month, the kitchen is in need of volunteers to help with set up, serving, and clean up for our active ministry. Please contact Franny to join in the fun.

These positions are vitally important in setting the tone of hospitality to both the congregation and visitors. If you think this is a calling for you, please contact  Bree .
