Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:30, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Sunday Worship
This week's message will be "Quid Pro Quo" by Rev. Ben Richards.
Wednesday Worship
In many ways, Simon Peter is a hero of the New Testament, the rock on which Jesus built the church. But he also got it wrong. A lot. And the gospel writers didn't shy away from presenting his story as one that not only had triumphs but also fear and confusion, falterings and flaws. Join us Wednesday nights at 6:35 in the Chapel as we explore his story and consider how it can inform our own.

This week's message will be "What's In a Name?" by Rev. David Leonard.
New Worship Schedule Begins This Sunday, September 1
We are pleased to announce a new Sunday worship schedule that begins this Sunday, September 1. Three weekly services will be offered: an 8:15 Traditional Service in the Chapel, a 9:30 Modern Service in the Worship Center, and an 11:00 Traditional Service in the Worship Center. As Trinity seeks to provide Sunday worship experiences that connect with people both inside and outside of our church across a broad range of ages and style preferences, we believe that this new schedule will help us offer the very best experience at each.
New Vision Statement
This past Sunday, Rev. Steve Price, along with  Beth Haines, Brian Myers, and Erica Penley  announced the new vision statement for Trinity as developed over several months with input from many staff, volunteers, and interviews. The new vision statement is below.

You can watch the announcement of the vision statement  here  and/or read the "Vision and Goals" document  here .

No Bull Bibles & Brew
Come on out to Crafty Bastard's Restaurant and Pub the 1st Monday of each month (September 2 this month) for No Bull. Have a favorite beverage and listen to the Trinity band in the bar area from 5:30 to 6:10, then connect with others for spirited conversation about life and faith from 6:10 to 7:00. Bring a friend and join in the fun!
Mission Box
This week's mission box supports P4H Global (formerly Projects 4 Haiti). P4H is committed to putting the development needs of the Haitian people above the self-gratifying desire to help. Their strategy is to connect people from all walks of life to form mutually beneficial relationships leading to positive change; equip their partners with skills, knowledge, and experiences to transform their communities; and empower people to look beyond circumstances to see the potential in others and themselves. (Text giving: text amount and "global" to 352-204-0163.)
Wednesday Night Dinners
Join us for food, fun & fellowship. The menu for August 28 is Lasagna, Roasted Carrots and Green Beans, Garlic Toast, Salad, Soup, and Dessert. Dairy and gluten free options are available. The kitchen is open from 5 - 6:30pm. Adult meals are $7, children 6 and up are $3, and 0-5 eat free, with a $25 family cap.
It takes a lot of hands to make this weekly fellowship successful. If you are able to assist the kitchen in any way, contact  Chris Riggs .
Note Cards for Talbot & Rawlings
Trinity is continuing our tradition of being good neighbors to Talbot and Rawlings Elementary Schools by writing notes of appreciation and encouragement to each of the teachers, staff, and administrators. This Sunday, we'll have note cards on a table by the Welcome Center for you to take home and sign and bring back to us. We'd also love for you to include $5. (Please don't seal the envelope.) We will purchase a gift card to Target, Walmart, Amazon, or even Starbucks for the teachers to enjoy and to help in their classrooms. What a blessing this will be to both schools as we offer them an encouraging word to begin the school year.
Faith Mission
We have great volunteer opportunities through  Faith Mission this fall!  Here are 3 priority needs:
  • Do you have 30 minutes a week (breakfast, lunch, or after school) to be an "encourager" for a Rawlings Elementary student? Email about the SMILE mentoring program or call Ward at (352) 416-3050.
  • How about one hour a week in the afternoon with the Kids Count after school program where you will be a part of Winning Reading Boost, a wonderful literacy program? Email Keri Neel or call (352) 244-9723.
  • Don't have time weekly to volunteer, but would like to plug in occasionally?  How about serving with our Hospitality Team or helping with special events at Faith Mission or in the neighborhood?  Please contact Vickie Leggett.
Thank you for being a courageous witness with Trinity's Faith Mission!
Children & Families Ministries
3rd Grade Parents: 3rd Grade Bible Presentation is September 8 at 9:40am. When we give the gift of a Bible to our children, we continue to experience and explore the beautiful faith we all share. Please register your 3rd grader by September 1.  If you are in 4th grade or 5th grade and did not receive a Bible, please email Amy. We want everyone to have the opportunity to receive a Bible from Trinity!
Adult Ministries
The Jesus Challenge:  If you would like to participate in The Jesus Challenge or want more information, please contact  Kim Lewerenz  (416-3074).  We have several Sunday School classes that will be participating.  We can help you get connected into a group that is already doing the study, or if you would like to start your own Jesus Challenge group, we can help you get started.  Books are available at the bookstore for $10.

When Helping Hurts Video Study: Good intentions are not enough. In this video-based study, When Helping Hurts offers a different framework for thinking about poverty and its alleviation. Rather than simply defining it as a lack of material things, the book addresses the roots of the issue: broken relationships with God, self, others, and the rest of creation. The class runs  September 15 - October 20 on  Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 in Room E203. Class Materials $9.  Childcare available for children 1 year - 5th grade with a reservation. If you're interested, register here.

RightNow Media:  In evaluating our curriculum resources and planning our discipleship budget for the coming year, we have decided to end our subscription with RightNow Media.  The subscription will go through the end of September.  We concluded that very few classes have accessed the RightNow materials over the past year. With so many resources currently available to both individuals and groups that are more cost-effective, we've made this change as an act of good stewardship. If you need assistance in identifying and selecting resources for your groups or for your own use, please contact  Kim Lewerenz  (416-3074).
