Lowell houses the most women in a correctional institution in the US.  Currently there are 34 prison-based churches in the United States, including two UMC prison churches in Tennessee and Iowa.

Impact at Florida A&M University Wesley Foundation: Part of the vision for IMPACT@FAMU Wesley Foundation is to create a "home away from home" for their students, an office/pastoral care area for the Executive Director, and a place to worship, gather, learn, play, and pray for the FAMU campus at large.

Adult Ministries
On May 28 at 10am in the Chapel there will be a service of "A Call to Prayer and Self-Denial". This is an observance that United Methodist Women and friends participate in each year.  This is an opportunity to reflect on the gospel of Christ and help sustain this ministry in our country and around the world.  The mission focus for 2019 is "Building a Thriving Generation of Children and Youth Worldwide," which provides an educational opportunity to learn more about the difficult circumstances children and youth face at home and abroad.  100% of the offerings received from the observance this year will go to programs that promote well being and equal opportunities for children and youth in need.  The guest speaker will be Sherry Kitchens, President and CEO of the Child Advocacy Center in Gainesville, who will give us a perspective of the local needs of children.
