Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:30, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Sunday Worship
This week's message will be by Rev. Catherine Fluck Price and will kick off our new series, "The Jesus Challenge".

If you attend the 9:30 Modern Service on Sunday Mornings, head over to  Spotify to take a listen to the songs that the worship team will be helping to lead during the service!
Wednesday Worship
In many ways, Simon Peter is a hero of the New Testament, the rock on which Jesus built the church. But he also got it wrong. A lot. And the gospel writers didn't shy away from presenting his story as one that not only had triumphs but also fear and confusion, falterings and flaws. Join us Wednesday nights at 6:35 in the Chapel as we explore his story and consider how it can inform our own.

This week's message will be "A New Courage" by Rev. Ben Richards.
Healing Prayer Service
The Healing Prayer Services in the Trinity Chapel (sponsored by The Order of St. Luke) will resume this coming Sunday, September 8 at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend and receive prayer for yourself or someone else. You need not be a member of the Order of St. Luke or Trinity to come. The Lord's Supper will be made available for those desiring to partake. Join us for these special healing prayer services held on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Mission Box
This week's mission box will go to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to support those affected by Hurricane Dorian.  (Text giving: text amount and "dorian" to 352-204-0163.)

Children & Families Ministries
3rd Grade Parents: 3rd Grade Bible Presentation is Sunday, September 8 at 9:30am. When we give the gift of a Bible to our children, we continue to experience and explore the beautiful faith we all share. Please register your 3rd grader by September 1. If you are in 4th grade or 5th grade and did not receive a Bible, please email Amy. We want everyone to have the opportunity to receive a Bible from Trinity!
Caring and Support
Prayer Shawl Ministry: About 15 years ago, a prayer shawl ministry was started through United Methodist Women and a group called Dorcas. The ministry knits or crochets shawls to be given to people in difficult situations including life-threatening illnesses and during grief. At this time, we need people who are willing to knit or crochet shawls. Thanks to a generous donation, we have lots of yarn. If you can commit to making one shawl, please contact Linda Cook. The prayer shawl ministry is an important part of our caring ministry here at Trinity. Thank you for your help.
Youth and Parents Meeting
The Youth Department has been doing some prayerful, intentional visioning and planning as a ministry team as well as with our student leaders. We want to  share our vision with you on Sunday, September 8 from 5:00 - 5:30 pm in a brief meeting in the Youth Building.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) will follow the meeting from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Adult Ministries
The Jesus Challenge:  If you would like to participate in The Jesus Challenge or want more information, please contact  Kim Lewerenz  (352-416-3074).  We have several Sunday School classes that will be participating.  We can help you get connected into a group that is already doing the study, or if you would like to start your own Jesus Challenge group, we can help you get started.  Books are available at the bookstore for $10.

When Helping Hurts Video Study: Good intentions are not enough. In this video-based study, When Helping Hurts offers a different framework for thinking about poverty and its alleviation. Rather than simply defining it as a lack of material things, the book addresses the roots of the issue: broken relationships with God, self, others, and the rest of creation. The class runs  September 15 - October 20 on  Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 in Room E203. Class Materials $9.  Childcare available for children 1 year - 5th grade with a reservation. If you're interested, register here.

RightNow Media:  In evaluating our curriculum resources and planning our discipleship budget for the coming year, we have decided to end our subscription with RightNow Media.  The subscription will go through the end of September.  We concluded that very few classes have accessed the RightNow materials over the past year. With so many resources currently available to both individuals and groups that are more cost-effective, we've made this change as an act of good stewardship. If you need assistance in identifying and selecting resources for your groups or for your own use, please contact  Kim Lewerenz  (352-416-3074).

Groups starting back on Tuesday, September 10:
  • Holy Yoga (September 10 - November 12, 8:30 - 9:30 am, Youth Building) is a Christ-centered, non-traditional worship experience. For more information, contact Franny Long. Childcare is available.
  • Tuesday Morning Moms (9:30 - 11:30 am, Room E203) resumes on September 10. They will begin a new study called The Faithful: Heroes of the Old Testament. Books are $17 and available at the bookstore or on the first day of class. Childcare is available.
  • Women Growing in Faith (6:30 - 8:30 pm, Room E232) resumes on September 10. They will begin a new study called Finding God Faithful: A Study on the Life of Joseph.  Books are $15 and available at the bookstore or on the first day of class.
Leader Luncheon:  Do you currently lead an adult spiritual formation group (small group, Bible study, or Sunday School)? Or, do you have the gift of leadership and would like to explore the option of leading an adult group?  You're invited to a Leader Luncheon on Sunday, September 8 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in Room E222.  This will be a great opportunity to connect, support, and learn from other leaders. To help us plan, please register by September 5 For more information, contact Kim Lewerenz (352-416-3074).
Sewathon
There will be a Sewathon at Trinity's Youth Building on Saturday, September 14 for Days for Girls. Each month, girls around the world must miss a week of school because of a lack of basic sanitary supplies. Days for Girls is an international organization that makes kits of reusable, washable supplies. The local chapter, started by a Girls Scout troop in Alachua, also makes kits for local women to use through partnerships with St. Francis House, Arbor House, Victim Services, and more. The local projects are partially funded by the Women's Giving Circle and other local grants.  Two sessions will be held: 9:00 am - 1:15 pm and 12:45 - 5:00 pm. Pizza lunch will be available for $5.00.  Bring your sewing machine if you can, but sewing machines and all materials will be available. Whether or not you sew, come join us; last year over 100 people attended.  There are lots of jobs to be done! For more information, contact Jeannine Cawthon  or Radha Selvester.  You can register here.
