There are several new faces in the FAME offices these days. Through new hires and the expansion of our teams and services, we’re thrilled to have added a number of talented people to our team, and we’re excited to introduce five of them to you today.

Sarah Newcombe, Financial Programs Specialist
If you’re looking for someone to assist you in developing and delivering educational programs on financial wellness to Mainers of all ages, reach out to Sarah. In her new role, Sarah’s focused on Invest in ME Reads, Claim Your Future, the iGrad and Enrich financial wellness platforms, and FAFSA filing. She also works with Maine businesses to help them create employee financial wellness programs. Away from the FAME office, she enjoys skiing, fly fishing, exploring Maine with her husband and dog, and indulging in anything Bravo TV.

Chris Young, NextGen College Savings Counselor (North)
Chris educates families, businesses, and community organiazations in the northern half of the state about the importance of saving for higher education. Early in his career, Chris worked at Eastern Maine Community College, Thomas College, and then become a middle and high school teacher and administrator for SAD 14. After teaching for 13 years, Chris switched his focus to college access, providing support to students and families through Maine’s GEAR UP Program. Chris lives in Kenduskeag and enjoys spending his free time playing golf and traveling the coast with his wife April. An alumnus of the University of Maine, Chris supports UMaine hockey. Go, Black Bears!

Maire Pelletier, NextGen College Savings Counselor (South)
Maire Pelletier offers the same great NextGen College Savings outreach services to the southern half of the state. With her background in teaching, Maire is in a unique position to share the importance of saving for higher education with students, families, and communities in southern Maine. A graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in art education, Maire lives in Waterville with her husband and fur babies, one cat and one dog. In her spare time, she enjoys creating Maine landscape and abstract paintings.

Diana Beaudoin, Education Programs Officer
Joining the FAME team in the new Education Programs Officer position, Diana is your contact for state education programs administered by FAME. These programs include the Doctors for Maine’s Future Scholarship, the Maine Health Care Provider Loan Repayment Pilot Program, the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program, the Maine State Grant Program, and two tuition waiver programs (one for eligible students in foster care and the other for family members of Maine first responders killed in the line of duty.) Diana is excited to be back in Maine after working in higher ed in the Boston area, most recently at Boston University School of Law. In her free time she enjoys dystopian fiction, uncovering “secret” hiking trails, kayaking, and watching videos of baby animals.

Vicki Loubier, Education Programs Coordinator
As FAME’s Education Programs Coordinator, Vicki can assist you with Maine Medical Association programs and the Maine Loan. You may also get connected with Vicki when you call our customer service line with financial aid questions. When she’s not at FAME, Vicki likes to spend time walking on the beach looking for ocean glass or hanging out with her family. She’s also a published author of children’s books. Look for her titles, including Dexter The Dancing Dinosaur and Pippedy Poppedy Penguin, on Amazon.
