On this day in 1992, Boston Celtics forward Larry Bird retired from the game of basketball. He was elected to the basketball Hall of Fame in 1998. Boston Celtics fans still consider him a hometown favorite to this day!

5 Treasures Trolley Tour
 
Old fashioned trolleys will greet passengers at Tattersall Farm, where they will embark on a tour that will include stops at the Firefighter's Museum, Winnekenni Castle, John Greenleaf Whittier's Birthplace and the Buttonwoods Museum before returning to Tattersall.
 
Mark your calendar for September 17th from 5 to 9 PM. Each stop will feature delicious food and beverages from local establishments, tours of the facility and/or grounds and historical perspectives.

"RISING WITH THE TIDES": An Economic Development Symposium

 

The Greater Haverhill Chamber is pleased to present "Rising with the Tides - Making the Most of the Mighty Merrimack": an engaging and instructive economic development conference focused on highlighting the progressive changes and opportunities that surround Haverhill and the region from its Merrimack River resources.

Harnessing those resources to attract new business, support citizens and launch further recreational opportunities will be covered during panel discussions. Keynote speaker, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, will highlight the regional efforts throughout the Merrimack Valley to date, while Mayor James Fiorentini will help facilitate the updates on projects within the city.

Top Chef Competition...
 
We are excited to announce the second round of the Chamber's Top Chef Challenge cooking competition. This round will focus on main dish/entree selections being prepared by three highly respected chefs.

The competition will feature: Rob Ozoonian; Executive Chef for Joseph's Tratorria; Andre Fuehr, Vice President Food & Beverage for Uno's Pizzeria (Corporate) and Anna Jabar-Omoyeni, Concept Chef for Simply Elegant Catering and Past Owner La Boniche in Lowell.

Included in the evening will be specialty wine and beer tastings, heavy appetizers, raffles and audience voting.
