The City of Tulare is currently recruiting to fill the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. An eligible list will also be established to fill future vacancies in this classification for a period up to 6 months.

The dates associated with the various steps of our recruitment process are outlined in this job posting. Please be sure to make note of the dates and plan now to participate in each phase of the recruitment. Confirmation of your eligibility to participate in each phase will be sent to you via email.


If we determine that you meet the minimum requirements for the position and that you have attached all of the required items, you will be invited to take a written exam which is the first phase of our recruitment process. Refer to the "Qualifications/Requirements" section of this posting for a complete list of all of the required documents.

The written examination will be administered on the afternoon of: FRIDAY, JUNE 3rd

SOURCE MATERIAL: The written exam will be based on the following source material:

*Human Relations (interpersonal skills, teamwork, commitment, honesty, emotional stability).

Additional details regarding the written exam will be sent via email to qualified applicants after the recruitment closes and our screening process is completed (on or before Friday, May 27th at 2 p.m.).


Applicants are required to possess a Chief's Physical Abilities or CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) card at time of application or proof that they are registered to take and successfully complete the CPAT test, prior to June 3, 2022. 


Applicants that achieve a passing score on the written exam will be invited to participate in our interview and assessment process which will be administered on: Thursday, June 16th.
