Tulare County EDC awarded $25,000 grant from

Bank of the Sierra

The Tulare County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) is pleased to announce the receipt of a $25,000 grant from Bank of the Sierra. This significant contribution reaffirms the dedication of both organizations to fostering economic growth and prosperity in Tulare County.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the County added 3,900 nonfarm jobs, a 2.8% increase. Education and Health Care have been the fastest-growing sectors in the County.

The Valley CERF coalition hosted an in-person Regional Congress at the Visalia Convention Center on Wednesday, August 23rd. HRTC stakeholders across the four-county region and community members joined to learn what the Coalition has been up to and work collectively to transform the region.

California Competes Tax Credit Applications Open

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants will be analyzed based on twelve different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region.


For fiscal year 2023-2024, GO-Biz will accept applications for the California Competes Tax Credit during the following periods:


January 2, 2024 – January 22, 2023

March 4, 2024 – March 18, 2024

Transportation and Manufacturing Sales and Use Tax Exemption

The California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) supports California's mission to provide financial incentives to cutting-edge companies by offering a sales and use tax (STE) exclusion to manufacturers that promote alternative energy and advanced transportation. These manufacturers create tens of thousands of high-paying, permanent jobs that bolster the state's economy. The STE Program is currently authorized through 2025.

Research and Development Tax Credit

This credit is based on the federal research credit, with modifications. You may qualify for this credit if you engaged in qualified research activities in California. The credit equals the sum of 15% of qualified expenses that exceed a base amount or 24% of basic research payments.
