League's Mayoral Forum is May 8
Tulsans have the opportunity to publicly question the three leading  mayoral candidates-Mayor Dewey Bartlett, former City Councilor Bill Christiansen and former Mayor Kathy Taylor-from 6-7:30 p.m., Wed., May 8 in the Perkins Auditorium at the OU-Tulsa Schusterman Learning Center, 4502 E. 41st St., during a free, public League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa candidate forum. Tulsa's Channel 8 News Anchor Mark Bradshaw will moderate, asking questions submitted in person by audience members. The forum will be broadcast live on KTUL's cable channel 131, as well as streamed live on its website KTUL.com. The taped version will air 2-3:30 p.m. May 11th on Channel 8. Wayne Greene to Speak at Annual Meeting
Come visit with old friends and new at the Tulsa League's annual meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m., Mon., May 6 at Fellowship Congregational Church, 2900 S. Harvard. Cost is $15 and can be paid at the door, but reservations are due TODAY, May 1. RSVP
Award-winning journalist Wayne Greene of the Tulsa World will share his insights into the 2013 Legislative Session that is quickly coming to a close. You'll also hear from a young man who helped with one of our major projects this year: Intern Israel Avila of our New Voter Registration Project.
Dinner and drinks will be served. Program starts at 6 p.m.

LWVOK Convention is in Tulsa on June 1
On Sat., June 1, Tulsa is hosting the biennial League of Women Voters of Oklahoma convention downtown at the Holiday Inn-Tulsa City Center, 17 W. 7th St. We would like a strong Tulsa presence to welcome our friends from across the state. Our League is entitled to 11 voting delegates, so please plan to be part of the action. Let us know you'd like to be a voting delegate by Fri., May 17. If you can't make the convention on Saturday, there is a dinner planned for 6 p.m., Fri., May 31, at the Spaghetti Warehouse, 221 E. Brady. Tulsa Member, Rep. Jeannie McDaniel, HD-78, will share a wrap-up of the 2013 Legislative Session which will have ended that day. Tell us your coming! |

There are several immediate, short-term volunteer opportunities and one long-term. Please consider volunteering your time with us.
Annual meeting, 5-6 p.m., Mon. May 6: three people are needed at the registration table. Mayoral Forum: 5-6 p.m., Wed., May 8: two or three greeters. LWVOK Convention, 8-9 a.m., Sat., Jun. 1: three people for registration. Office Volunteer, 10-2, alternating Fridays: this is an ongoing assignment.
