The fourth and final of our regional "Tulsa Talks" conversations will focus on African American history and experience in Oregon and Idaho.
Brenda Mikota, chair of the regional church Anti-Racism/Pro- Reconciliation Team will moderate this ninety minute discussion.
Our special guest will be Dr. Darryl Tukufu, a Disciples minister and former elder at First Christian Church in Salem. Darryl is a past president of the Urban League of Portland and was ordained at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis.
We will also share resources for the history of African Americans in Oregon and Idaho. Videos from Disciples of Christ Historical Society include talks in Tulsa about African American Disciples history (Preston Taylor and Sarah Lue Bostick) which you can view on your own schedule at https://discipleshistory.org/programs/tulsa-conference.
Join us on this coming Wednesday, February 8 at 630 pm Pacific and 730 pm Mountain time for this Zoom conversation. You do not need to have attended previous sessions or do any "homework" to participate on February 8.
