Student Spotlights

Alexis Carter

Criminal Justice Investigations

Alexis Carter is making her own path, studying in her second-year in the Criminal Justice Program and at Career Academy.

"Career Academy has been a game-changer, showcasing my untapped potential," Carter said.

With a dedicated group of faculty and a family atmosphere, Career Academy helps students push beyond their limits and realize their true abilities. Throughout her journey, one person stands out amongst all of the people here, Ms. Moore, her counselor. Alexis expresses her impact, "Mrs. Moore's support has been unwavering, a driving force through my highs and lows."

As Carter strides through the Criminal Justice Program and her high school coursework at Career Academy, she personifies resilience and determination nurtured in the right environment. Career Academy isn't just a school; it's where she found her calling and recognized her true capabilities.

Jasmine Tilley and Maria Maluenga

Biomedical Science Advanced

Jasmine and Maria's friendship blossomed from their first day in the Biomedical Science program last year.

Jasmine initially pursued a Pre-Engineering elective at Bixby High School, but chose to attend Tulsa Tech full-time instead. Maria, after relocating from Florida during her sophomore year, heeded a teachers' advice to attend Tulsa Tech.

Both are passionate about Biomedical Science, relishing in their diverse studies and lab work, with dissections being a highlight.

Their time in the program has solidified each of their career goals. Jasmine aspires to study virology at the University of Missouri, while Maria aims to begin her medical journey at TCC, ultimately with the goal of becoming a doctor. They unanimously agree that choosing Tulsa Tech has been one of their best decisions, paving the way for lifelong friendships and promising careers in medicine.
