Effective Friday, November 20, Los Angeles County will tighten pandemic safeguards and restrictions as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to increase significantly. These safeguards and restrictions protect the public health and safety of our residents, and their ability to be served in our hospitals.
COVID-19 cases have more than doubled since the beginning of November and hospitalizations have increased from an average of about 900 a day to well over 1,000 a day in same time period. READ MORE

L.A. County Launches Digital Contact Tracing for COVID-19, Aiming to Reduce Exposure Notifications from Days to Hours with Healthvana
LOS ANGELES – As California’s counties reach sobering new milestones in COVID-19 cases, L.A. County and its partner, Healthvana, are taking a bold step to control community spread. Individuals with a positive test are now able to immediately and anonymously notify anyone with whom they have recently come in close contact, using their mobile phones.
By reducing COVID-19 exposure notifications from days to hours, officials hope to further reduce community spread by encouraging close contacts to quickly quarantine and obtain a free test. This is only one aspect of the County’s extensive effort on contact tracing which is led by the Department of Public Health. READ ARTICLE

Have you ever been curious about the large world of small puppets? Join us this month to create your own hand and rod puppet! Together we will create a character, practice pantomime, and explore our unique voices. From the grounded to the absurd, all folks are welcome!

Supplies needed: 
Scrap Cloth (handkerchief or old t-shirts you are willing to cut up, etc.)
Card Stock (or thick paper - old cereal box recommended!)
Drawing Utensils (markers, colored pencils, pens, etc.)
A long stick (wood grill skewers recommended)

Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) is pleased to present Studio Soup, a quarterly series of candid conversations about art and process.  Artist Peggy Reavey hosts a closer look at the unique ways artists move from original impulse to finished piece – how their work comes to be. The conversation includes abstract painters Maggie Lowe Tennesen, Marie Thibeault and sculptor Ann Weber. The virtual conversation takes place on Tuesday, December 1st from 6:30pm - 8pm. Registration for this free event is available at angelsgateart.org or directly at eventbrite.com.
