Phased Re-Opening Commencing May 4th
The Turks & Caicos Islands Government has announced the first phase of a gradual re-opening of our islands after a 37 day shelter-in-place order.
Starting May 4th, our beaches will reopen with strict social distancing in place as will hardware stores. We will be able to move about with social distancing but we are encouraged to #stayhome if traveling on the roadways is non-essential.
Starting May 11th, retail stores, restaurants for takeaway meals, key government offices, and construction - to name a few - will be permitted to open with strict
adherence
to social distancing and health guidelines.
I
nternational travel will remain closed until, at least, June 1st. In the meantime, Government Ministers will be establishing a stakeholder engagement group with the hospitality sector, guided by Heath, to support and inform the work that will be required to start to reopen the islands to international tourism.
