Please Conserve Water When Storms Are Forecast

Stop Watering Your Landscape When it Rains: Please Turn Off Your Irrigation Controller

Several storms are forecast for next week and rain is expected starting Monday! The rainfall will likely meet your landscape watering needs for several days. Turning off your irrigation the day before a scheduled forecast and up to a week after it rains will help our community save water.

Be alert about rainy weather forecasts and prepare to conserve!

Watering Non-Functional Turf Restricted by the State

Including Commercial, Institutional, Industrial, and HOA Common Areas

The California State Water Resources Control Board adopted regulations that prohibit the irrigation of non-functional turf at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites, as well as Homeowner Association common areas (HOAs). Non-functional turf is defined as solely ornamental and not used regularly for human recreational purposes or community events.

The State Water Board encourages people to reduce turf irrigation on all properties, residential and non-residential, and to convert turf to California-friendly landscaping. Incentives to replace turf are available in article below.

Winter is a Great Time to Replace Your Lawn

Incentives Offered Up to $1.50 Per Square Foot For Turf Replacement

Watering a large lawn can be expensive! For customers with lawns, it is common to see over 50% of water usage go to their lawn. The irrigation of lawns often result in most of the water used being billed at the highest water cost tier. The replacement of your lawn with drought-tolerant plants can reduce landscape water dramatically.

Additional water savings can be achieved by replacing lawns with zero-water use alternatives like decorative rock or artificial grass. Our incentives may encourage you to get a jump-start on your lawn replacement project. Learn details at the link below or contact us at [email protected]

Note: To ensure incentive eligibility, your lawn replacement project must be pre-approved by the District before work may begin.
