Your donations through United Way make a variety of vital programs and services possible throughout Tompkins County. As we near the end of this campaign year, we find ourselves within striking distance of improving on last year's results. We want to ensure that the possibility of a healthier future is available to all of our neighbors. Reaching our goal will help make that possibility a reality, and build the momentum needed to serve many more in the years to come.

In this newsletter you will find fun and exciting ways to help us reach our goal of $1.9 million . These events and special programs not only can get us to goal, but also bring our donors a bit of joy and excitement. In the process, getting to goal will not only raise the money needed to meet the challenges in our community, it can do it in a fashion that brings us a little closer together.
Tompkins Cortland Community College and Coltivare are excited to bring you a night of Mardi Gras-style merriment.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's sock drive! Because of you, we will delivered over 2,000 pairs of socks to students throughout the county. That's double our goal of 1,000 pairs.

A special shout out to Ithaca Wegmans,   Target  in Lansing, and  BJ's Wholesale Club  in Ithaca for their support!
The 2020 Census is Coming

Update : In June of 2019, the Supreme Court ruled that the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census violated federal law.   There will be no citizenship question included in the 2020 Census.
Counting every person living in the United States is a massive undertaking, and efforts begin years in advance.

The Census asks questions that provide a snapshot of the nation. Census results affect your voice in government, how much funding your community receives, and how your community plans for the future.

When you fill out the census, you help:
  • Determine how many sets your state gets in Congress.

  • Guide how more that $675 billion in federal funding is distributed to states and communities each year.

  • Create hobs, provide housing, paper for emergencies, and build schools, roads and hospitals.
Be the Solution!
