Liquid Assets - Turning Wine into Art

Turn wines in your cellar into a tax donation, or add some special wines to your collection, all while supporting art, history and environmental education in our community. Napa Valley Museum's “Liquid Assets” campaign invites discriminating wine collectors to bid on wonderful wines - and donate their excess wines - to sustain the Napa Valley’s own world-class art and history museum. With the help of some of the best wine auction houses and experts around, these donated bottles will be auctioned and proceeds (net of selling costs) distributed to our nonprofit programs.

Is your cellar empty? We are currently auctioning the contents of a donor's wine cellar through winebid.com. Please BID NOW!

This auction has already generated $19,500 in sales - you'll find some bargains too!
Current auction continues until lots are sold; the Liquid Assets campaign is ongoing.
Through "Liquid Assets" you can:

  • Donate bottles with "Reserve Values" (what they've previously sold for on an auction's site) of at least $20 per-bottle. Average per-bottle "hammer" (final sales price) is $100-$120. Donate either a few bottles or an entire cellar.
  • Receive a donation receipt from the Museum for wine donated. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law (please consult your tax advisor for more information about potential tax deductibility of wine donations).
  • Enjoy knowing that proceeds will benefit Napa Valley Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit, presenting exceptional exhibitions and educational programs about art, history and the environment, and preserving 15,000 items in our permanent collection evidencing the history, geology, and cultural legacy of our region.

Why let your wines gather dust in your cellar when these “liquid assets” can fund the cultural enrichment of our community?
Plus - it’s a great excuse to buy more wine!

Help us turn the artistry of winemaking into art on our walls. Contact Executive Director Laura Rafaty laura@napavalleymuseum.org for more information.
We also greatly appreciate donations of cash and stock to help sustain us at this challenging time. With Your Help, the Museum Will Return
Our Museum's indoor and outdoor spaces have been closed since mid-March, but we've never stopped working to remain a vital nonprofit arts and culture organization for the benefit of our community. Many of you have visited our virtual exhibitions, and we are grateful to all who donated to tour "Virtual Lucy Liu," who renewed or joined as Members, or who have given as Donors. We rely on your support now more than ever, so that we can bring the Museum back to vibrant life as soon as we can safely return.
