We know that human trafficking may seem like an impossible issue to solve. We are here to tell you - something can be done. In fact, Voluntad is doing something every day that directly solves this problem. We make it possible for survivors to rebuild their lives, free from exploitation.
Here are the things our staff will do this week to make a difference in the lives of survivors:

  • Work with participants to develop individual safety plans that ensure they can access our resources without risk to them from their traffickers,

  • Assist them to obtain the documentation they need to obtain safe and stable housing, including re-applying for the birth certificates and social security cards that their traffickers may have taken from them,

  • Connect them to healthy food resources in their neighborhoods,

  • Help them find safe and appropriate child care

  • Connect them to trauma-informed medical providers of all types, often for the first time in many years, and accompany them to appointments to help them manage anxiety and role model healthy self-care and coping skills.
We know these are some of the most important things we can do to change lives. Empowering people to meet their basic needs makes it possible for them to take the next step toward job readiness and employment, and ultimately self-sufficiency.

When you take the next step, you are rejecting the lie that “nothing can be done” about human trafficking. Send a generous donation of $35, $50, $100, or more to help Street’s Hope/Voluntad sustain and grow our initiatives, and help more survivors of trafficking.

Thank you for your generosity. Together we can create positive change
