Straight from the creek, Sharon's fish print series hatched one day when Joey, Sharon's avid fisherman husband, shared a fresh catch with her and suggested she 'play' with it. Experimenting with different papers, paints and college techniques, these paintings are a true reflection of life along the Grand Strand. 'Trout 'r' Running' is what the fisher-folk around here love to hear and see.
Sharon's work continues to evolve into more of the impressionistic style she has studied and always admired. Using color, composition and brush stroke, Sharon's work has been described as fresh and full of emotion. One judge commented, "You take us into your world, and that is what art should do. Keep it up."
A native of Georgetown, Sharon paints mostly in water based medium and has won numerous awards for her work.
"Painting is, for me, a channel for creative energy and a vehicle for emotional expression. Learning is my passion; so, artistic expression through study of drawing skills, color theory, and painting techniques offer a plethora of opportunity for me to learn, create and grow."
