Description: There are changes that come into play when a person turns 18 years old, both in life and with Social Security.  For example, anyone who is receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) has to go through an Age 18 Redetermination. Join this webinar to learn:
  • What the Redetermination process is and how to best prepare for it;
  • What other Social Security disability programs 18-year-olds might qualify for, and how to identify and access them; and
  • What Work Incentives are geared towards younger individuals who receive Social Security benefits.

Presenter:
Margaret Keener, Site Manager/Benefits Planning Manager, has a bachelor's degree in Social Work and 30 years of experience working in the Social Service Field.  Her experience includes working with individuals with disabilities, providing Benefits Planning Services, assisting individuals with Social Security issues, providing services to those with mental health issues, managing employment programs for a HUD-based Housing Authority, providing Emergency Assistance and Case Management Services to the homeless, and working with families through Child Protective Services.   Margaret currently works with individuals who have disabilities at North Central Independent Living Services (NCILS) and has done so for over fifteen years.
