Earth Day Celebration at Bahia Honda

Save-A-Turtle is thrilled to announce that we will be at Bahia Honda with our turtle trailer for their 25th annual Earth Day Celebration, sponsored by Friends of Bahia Honda State Park. The date and time for the event is set for Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10:00AM - 2:00PM. Along with Save-A-Turtle, the event will have numerous other educational organizations like NOAA, Turtle Hospital, Aquatic Preserves, FL Keys Astronomy Club, Seacamp, Reef Relief, Naval Air Station and more!

Mote Marine's 2022 Ocean Fest

Save-A-Turtle is super excited to be a part of Ocean Fest in Key West on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10AM - 4PM at Truman Waterfront Park. Mote’s Ocean Fest has been said to be one of the best events in the Keys for all ages. Come out for a day of fun, crafts, games, music, food and shopping as Mote Marine showcases the marine environment while raising money for coral reef research and restoration.

Save-A-Turtle Past Events: Wyland

The Save-A-Turtle trailer was in Marathon, FL with Wyland for his mural restoration on Wednesday, March 2nd along with The Turtle Hospital and Dolphin Research Center. It was an awesome experience and was well attended!

Nesting season is here for sea turtles and waterbirds...

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) reminds beachgoers how to help protect vulnerable nesting sea turtles and waterbirds while visiting Florida’s coastal habitats.

Each spring and summer, thousands of sea turtles, shorebirds and seabirds nest on Florida’s beaches. Because our state’s shorelines are critical for sea turtle and waterbird nesting, beachgoers can make a big difference in helping them. read more...

Coast Guard makes a different kind of rescue

And 2 turtles are now at a Keys hospital. The U.S. Coast Guard has been busy on the waters this year as the agency deals with a surge in migration to Florida from Cuba and Haiti. But crews have been busy saving other lives, too.

On Monday, Coast Guard crews from Station Key West rescued two injured green turtles in separate discoveries off the Lower Florida Keys. read more...
