Curry Hammock Island Cleanup and Education Day
Save-A-Turtle will be partnering with Coastlove and Curry Hammock State Park for a day of sun, sand, and education!
We are rolling up our sleeves and heading back to Deer Key for another kayak cleanup! Deer Key is an important rookery and rest stop for thousands of migratory birds each year so we want to help keep this island clean and healthy.

Earth Day Celebration at Bahia Honda
Save-A-Turtle was at Bahia Honda with our turtle trailer for their 25th annual Earth Day Celebration, sponsored by Friends of Bahia Honda State Park on Saturday, April 16, 2022. The event had numerous educational organizations like NOAA, Turtle Hospital, Aquatic Preserves, FL Keys Astronomy Club, Seacamp, Reef Relief, Naval Air Station and more!
Mote Marine's 2022 Ocean Fest
Save-A-Turtle was thrilled to be a part of Ocean Fest in Key West on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Truman Waterfront Park. Mote’s Ocean Fest has been said to be one of the best events in the Keys for all ages. It was an amazing day of education, fun, crafts, games, music, food and shopping!

Healed sea turtle released to mark Earth Day in Florida Keys

A rehabilitated green sea turtle has been released back to the ocean from the Florida Keys to mark Earth Day
MARATHON, Fla. -- A rehabilitated green sea turtle was released back to the ocean in the Florida Keys on Friday to mark Earth Day.
Several hundred onlookers watched on Marathon’s Sombrero Beach as staff from the Keys-based Turtle Hospital released “TJ Sharp,” a 65-pound (30-kilogram) juvenile sea turtle that was rescued in February. read more...
