Keeping our beaches clean!

A big shoutout to our incredible friends at CoastLove for organizing an amazing event to revitalize the turtle nesting beach at Boca Chica Beach Park! 🐢💚

An amazing group of dedicated volunteers, including some of our Save-A-Turtle board members, came together to make a real impact on this beautiful shoreline. With teamwork and a shared passion for marine conservation, we all rolled up our sleeves to help protect the vital habitats that so many creatures call home. It was more than just a cleanup; it was a celebration of community spirit and environmental stewardship. Together, we’re not just enjoying our oceans—we’re actively safeguarding them for future generations.

Let’s keep the momentum going! With our combined efforts, we can continue to protect these stunning beaches and the precious wildlife that thrives in them. Every action counts, and together, we can make a difference!

Spooktacular Conservation: Save-A-Turtle at Big Pine Academy's Trunk or Treat

This Halloween season, Save-A-Turtle made a splash at the Big Pine Academy Trunk or Treat event by sponsoring a trunk full of treats and education! One of our dedicated volunteers was on-site, engaging with families and sharing exciting sea turtle facts alongside a bounty of goodies.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our local community and introduce children and adults alike to the important work of sea turtle conservation. From fun treats to informative handouts, we aimed to inspire the next generation of ocean advocates.

Events like these not only create a festive atmosphere but also foster a love for wildlife and the environment. We’re thrilled to be part of such a vibrant community and can’t wait for more opportunities to spread awareness about these magnificent creatures!

Together, let’s keep the spirit of conservation alive in our community—one trunk at a time!

WE CAN ALL HELP!

Recent boat strike victim! Red arrow indicates start of strike wound.

It's an all too common occurrence when boats and marine animals meet on the water... boat strikes! Sadly, we receive calls on these occurrences FAR TOO OFTEN.

One way that you can help protect marine life when you’re out enjoying the waterways is to have a designated marine animal spotter on board whenever possible. Somebody that is looking out constantly for the dolphins, manatees and sea turtles that may be found in our waterways.

Additionally, please make sure you’re following slow speed and no wake signs.

If you encounter an injured marine animal while you’re enjoying your boating time or out on the beach in Florida, please call the FWC Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922).
