PASSPORTS

First and foremost, do you have a passport? If not, do not delay in getting one. If you already have a passport, please double-check that the expiration date falls 6 months after your arrival date. European countries require that you have at least 6 months of validity left on your passport to enter.

**When you have your passport in hand, please send us a photo of the first page that has your photo and all of the data. Email info@racquetwar.com**

AIRLINE TICKETS WEEK 1 (AUGUST 9TH-16TH)

It is time for you to look at purchasing airline tickets for our trip. We are in the Goldilocks period, where it is not too early, and not too late to purchase your tickets. It is just the right time!  While I know everyone has their own schedules and preferences, I have listed here the basics that you need to know when choosing your flights.

Our tour officially starts and ends in Florence, Italy at the Santa Maria Novella Train Station at NOON on Saturday, August 9. Santa Maria Novella is the main train station in Florence.

Flight departure from the U.S.--Friday, 8 August

Arrive Italy--Saturday, 9 August

You will want to arrive in Italy no later than the morning of Saturday, 9 August. If you are flying from the U.S., you will need to depart on Friday, August 8. Please try to arrive at FLR (the Florence Amerigo Vespucci Airport at Peretola) no later than 11 a.m. This will allow you time to get your luggage and catch a taxi to the train station to meet the rest of the group for our transfer to our accommodations in Chianti Tuscany.

Return to the U.S.

Depart Florence, Saturday, August 16

When scheduling your departure from the Florence airport on Saturday, August 16, plan to depart at NOON or later. This will allow you time to get to the train station and then taxi to the airport.

AIRLINE TICKETS WEEK 2 (AUG 16TH-23RD)

EARLY ARRIVAL

Please note that some people prefer an entire buffer day to acclimate to the new time zone and get over any jetlag before the start of the tour. In that case, you will want to depart the U.S. on Thursday, August 14 thus arriving on the morning of the 15th of August. You would then have the balance of your arrival day to rest and relax, before the start of the tour on August 16. If you would prefer to take this approach, we can recommend the Hotel Ambasciatori for a convenient stay immediately outside the train station. This will allow you easy access to the city center, but also to the train station for meeting the group.
