Africa University Offers Weekly Videos of
Students Lighting Advent Candles
|
During the season of Advent, consider including in your worship services videos of female Africa University students lighting the Advent candles.
The videos were created by the University to help us promote the Teach • Reach • Bless campaign to build and furnish a new residence hall for female students at Africa University. The new hall is needed because increasing enrollment at Africa University and a lack of on-campus housing means that some students commute from remote areas and find affordable off-campus housing, putting female students at risk of living in and being subjected to untenable situations.
Two videos have been produced for each of the four Sundays of Advent. Each video shows a different student lighting that week’s candle: Hope for November 28, Peace for December 5, Joy for December 12, and Love for December 19. Two videos were also produced for Christmas Eve showing students lighting the Jesus candle. A bonus video shows the students singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Each video ends with information showing how worshippers can support the Teach • Reach • Bless campaign.
Through the end of October, $1,223,975 has been collected, leaving only $276,025 to reach the needed $1.5 million to build and furnish the new residence hall.

As you all know, Megan will begin her new position of District Administrator of the Canal & Tuscarawas Districts beginning January 1, 2022. With this change will come a new email address for the district office. The new email will be [email protected] and will go into effect on January 1. The current Tuscarawas District email will be monitored for 30 days. Please make sure that you update your address books within your email system. |

2022 Budget and Year - End Reports |
Reminder - 2022 Budgets were due to the District Office no later than December 1, 2021. If you have not submitted your budget, please do so as soon as possible!
To all clergy & those that work on year-end reporting - the reports WILL BE submitted in EZRA. The new system is not quite ready to go live yet, so we will still be using EZRA for year-end reporting and leadership in 2022.

EOC Office of Finance and Administration ~ 2021 Apportionments |
In keeping with the notice in the East Ohio Annual Conference Journal, the final payment of the 2021 apportionment year must be received at the EOC lockbox on or before January 5, 2022, to be credited as a 2021 payment. Checks received in the lockbox after January 5, 2022, regardless of the postmark date on the envelope, will be counted as having been received in 2022.

Journeys of Paul in Turkey & Greece
September 26 - Oct 5, 2022
|
Bishop Tracy S. Malone and the Methodist Foundation of Ohio will lead an Educational Opportunities Journeys of Paul in Turkey & Greece tour September 26 – October 5, 2022. The trip is open to all East Ohio Conference laity and clergy.
“On this trip, we will retrace some of the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul and see many significant sites of the New Testament. The Scriptures will take on new meaning as you visit the ancient communities where Paul established churches, including Colossae, Corinth, and Ephesus,” Malone shared.
During the 10-day journey, visit Istanbul, Philippi, Athens, Corinth, Cappadocia, Laodicea, Ephesus, and more. The trip starts at $3,698* departing on September 26, 2022 from Cleveland or Columbus, OH or from Pittsburgh, PA.
*Price reflects a 4% discount and does not include the $50 Turkish Visa.

The purpose of the East Ohio Conference Spiritual Formation and Christian Education Committee is to support the discipleship ministries of East Ohio congregations in the areas of Christian Education and Spiritual formation for all age groups. We currently have the following topics available for training in your local congregation:
