SOU Theatre Green Show Performance

Students learn the basic components of devising a prequel with music to A Midsummer Night's Dream. This includes establishing a working theatre ensemble, exploring themes and stimuli, generating raw material (script, music, lyrics), building scenes and characters, and solidifying the narrative to ensure a polished finished piece.
In this "Small but Mighty Theatre Company" model, each student(s) takes on a task of creation: from playwrights to composers / musicians, costume and props designers to stage management all within a very tight budget. We are taking a ren faire approach in its creation (processional, introduction of characters and reason for being there, a play within the play, and then a recessional) in creating the piece.
The title of the show is What Fools These Mechanicals Be focusing on Puck and the Mechanicals and their journey to the wedding of the Duke and Queen. Unfortunately, they read the map wrong and ended up in Ashland instead of Athens.
