About this Email

Dear Parents of 4th-6th Graders,

I hope this finds all of you well! You're receiving this email because you are, indeed, a parent of a 4th-6th grader at St. John's, and we are hoping to see all of your children at Sunday School and other events for this age group throughout the year!

Therefore, each week you'll be receiving this email which will contain the week's schedule, the acolyte schedule, news about upcoming events for this age group, a weekly prayer, and resources for parents. Please do let me know if you would like to be removed from the email list.

I want to say a special thank you to Alana Haughaboo and Sue Powell who will once again be the primary leadership for programming for this age group!

With so many children in this age group, I am sure it is going to be an amazing year! We hope to see all of you this Sunday for our first day of Sunday School!

Peace,

Sarah+

Weekly Prayer:

A Prayer for When we are Angry

For a fire is kindled by my anger, and burns to the depths of Sheol.

-Deuteronomy 32:22a

Anger burns inside me.

The heat rises within me.

It is hard to hold my temper.

Words fly out of my mouth.

I'm so angry toward (name) I can't stand it.

It's consuming me.

I am so mat at (name).

I can't see beyond my rage.

Lord, I know it's okay to be angry.

You get angry too.

Help me take this fire within me,

and use it to do what is right, not for revenge.

Amen.

Sunday School Resumes This Week!

All youth in 4th-6th grade are invited the classroom across from the Nursery to learn and talk about God, to get to know one another, and to have a great time together. This year we’ll be using the Weaving God's Promises curriculum which gives participants a basic, yet deeper, understanding of the ancestors of our faith and has great resources for activities, games, and discussions.
