October Is Month of the Holy Rosary
Join our Rosary Group every Tuesday evening at 7pm to pray the Rosary at St. Julian Eymard Church. Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Statue arrives this Saturday at St. Julian Eymard!

October is Respect Life Month
Thank you to our Respect Life Ministers who have planned these many activities to remind us of the beauty and sanctity of life. October is a busy month, so please check below for information on activities and events to help support a culture of life in the parish and in our community!
| 10/11/23 Holy Hour for Grandparents and the Elderly. Come to St. Julian Eymard Church tonight at 6:30pm as a family, receive God's blessing and leave with a parting gift. | 10/11/23 -12/12/23 40-Hours Devotion continues. Please join the Respect Life Ministry in prayer for a culture that supports life from conception until natural death. The 40-hours devotion continues until the Closing Benediction on Thursday, October 12th at Noon at St. Julian Eymard Church. The church remains open continuously during this time. | 10/21/23 Northwest Families for Life Stand for Life. Rally to the OLBS Respect Life banner and join our Respect Life Ministry and fellow parishioners in standing for life. 1-3pm in the St. Theresa Dolan Center Gymnasium. | |
NorthWest Families for Life is looking for individuals to stand vigil in front of the American Women's Medical Center, 110 S. River Road, Des Plaines on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Spiritual Adoption and the Baby Bottle Campaign continue throughout the month of October. 40 Days for Life continues until November 5th.

OLBS Teen Center Open House
Mr. Van invites all teens this Friday, October 13th to an Open House with at Cookies & Ice Cream Bar from 3-5pm. Bring your friends, enjoy some sweet treats and hang out in the OLBS Teen Center designed just for you: play video or table games, watch movies, do homework or work on other projects or just hang out!

Parents Club Trunk or Treat
Queen of the Rosary School Parents Club invites School and Parish families to our first-ever Trunk or Treat Event on Friday, October 20th from 5-7pm in the School parking lot. Bags are $5 in advance (order by October 18th) and $7 at the door.

PreCana Weekend Encounter
The Archdiocese of Chicago, through the Office of Lifelong Formation, is offering a PreCana Encounter Weekend on October 21 and 22, 2023 for couples to learn about the sacrament of marriage and prepare their hearts leading up to their wedding day. This event is filled with great speakers, activities, prayer and reflection for engaged couples on the sacrament and vocation of marriage. Please contact your home parish (where you currently live and not any destination parish) before registering for any marriage preparation program. This experience fulfills the PreCana marriage preparation requirement for the Archdiocese of Chicago. More information is available here.

Fall Bake Sale
Calling all bakers! Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Women's Club needs your help to bring back the Fall Bake Sale, set for October 28th/29th before and after all Masses at both Queen of the Rosary and St. Julian Eymard. This event is the primary fundraiser for our parish Women's Club, and proceeds are used to support our teachers at Queen of the Rosary School, teens in our Youth Ministry, host faith and fellowship events for women in the parish and help with parish-wide celebrations like the Parish Picnic. We know we have the best bakers around, and our Women's Club is asking for your help providing sweet treats to tempt donors.

11/3 First Friday. Begins with 8:15am Mass at SJE and continues until Closing Benediction at 11:30am
11/3 Turkey Bunco. Roll the dice with our Women's Club in Shea Hall starting at 6:30pm. $5 entry fee.
11/5 Fall Back! Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour between Saturday 11/4 and Sunday 11/5.
11/5 Pancake Breakfast. Support our Youth Ministry while enjoying a delicious breakfast following all Sunday Masses! Free-will offering.
11/6 Season of Giving Kickoff. More info to come, but save the date for this year's Season of Giving!
11/11 Mass & Fellowship Gathering. A special Mass is being offered for the Bereaved and those interested in joining our Grief-Share Ministry, Journey of the Heart at 10:00am at SJE.
11/23 Thanksgiving. We will celebrate daily Mass at a special time of 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day (QR) and the Friday (SJE) after.
