RCIA: A New Season Begins Sunday, September 29
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for those who are considering the Catholic faith and way of life more deeply. Some come with little or no religious background or were raised in other Christian denominations. Others are engaged to or married to Catholics and want to learn more. And some are baptized Catholics who wish to complete the sacraments of initiation (First Communion and/or Confirmation).
The 2024/2025 RCIA program will begin on Sunday, September 29 following the 11:15 Mass at St. Boniface. The program lasts one hour each Sunday, and continues through Easter. All inquiries are welcome and will be kept confidential. To find out more, contact RCIA coordinators Rob and Nadine at faith@oratorychurch.org or the parish office at info@oratorychurch.org.

Return of Brunches/Dinners at the Oratory Residence
After a hiatus, we will begin inviting all registered parishioners again to the Oratory Residence at 64 Middagh Street for a shared meal with the priests and other members of the community. Since it is part of the charism of St Philip Neri is that all should be known by name, we believe that an informal meal can help build bonds of connection and communion while also allowing us to share the joys and struggles of faith It will take a while to invite everyone in the community, so please be patient. If you are willing to help prepare a meal to be shared by other parishioners, please email Fr Anthony (aandreassi@oratorychurch.org). We would appreciate the help!

Popcorn with the Pope: Oratory Film Series
In 1995, 100 years after the birth of cinema, the Vatican compiled a list of the most significant films, with entries varying from the somewhat lighthearted “The Wizard of Oz” (1939) to the challenging arthouse “Seventh Seal” (1957). However, what they all shared in common was that each explored something fundamental about the human condition, such as religious faith, love, suffering, pursuit of justice, morality, and ultimate meaning.
All showings will be on Wednesdays at 7 pm in ABVM Hall.
Mark your calendar for September 25: “Angels with Dirty Faces” (1938)

Meeting Christ in Prayer
Meeting Christ in Prayer is modeled on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. By means of prayer, reflection and sharing, participants will have an opportunity to meet Christ anew and to experience support in our Christian way of life. The program asks you to commit to spending 20-30 minutes each day in prayer, to keep a journal of your thoughts and reflections, and to attend eight weekly meetings for prayer, discussion and sharing. Regular attendance at these meetings is recommended. Meetings will take place on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm in the Community Room at Assumption Church. Our first meeting will take place on October 1 st and continue for 8 consecutive Tuesdays. Register here: https://bit.ly/3WQxHrp
