Feeling Thankful
Gratitude. Farmers' Markets embody gratitude. We feel it every single Saturday morning, when our farmers roll in as the sun rises, trucks piled high with produce. When our volunteers arrive, eager to get started, smiles on their faces. When we take a moment to look around at all the beautiful food and crafts, and people and pets. And you know when our hearts really fill up? When you pass by our information tents as you leave the market, your arms loaded with bags of veggies and bouquets of flowers, and you say 'thank you' - to us. To us. And all we can think is how grateful we are for you. Perhaps it's this mutual sense of gratitude that creates the magical, infectious, joyous vibe of the market.

So bundle up and come join us for a little of that joy tomorrow. We promise to warm your heart and feed your soul. We've got twenty-nine vendors ready to help make your Thanksgiving holiday extra special. And Curt will be back and spinning the tunes tomorrow, so count on a groovy playlist - sure to include Arlo Guthrie's famed 'Alice's Restaurant,' an EFM tradition for 15 years.

Fall Comfort Cooking
Thanksgiving Slaw
From thekitchn.com
"The idea of serving salad at Thanksgiving is, in theory, a good one — you want something light, crunchy, and refreshing to balance out the roast turkey and rich sides. The reality, however, is that most salads need to be tossed at the last second and eaten quickly before wilting — not the best choice when there’s a lot going on in the kitchen already and the food might sit out for a few hours.

This easy, colorful slaw is the answer to this dilemma. It won’t wilt like other green salads and can sit out for a while, making it a great addition to the Thanksgiving buffet."

Keep it Local
After you shop the EFM, head to the Highmark Farmstand to fill in the gaps. Fresh cranberries just arrived yesterday. And earlier in the week, the Farmstand crew made their annual trek to Melick Orchard's historic cider mill in Oldwick, NJ - for the BEST sparkling cider on the planet. And we highly recommend the Saltopia Turkey Brine. Those of you who are veteran EFM shoppers likely remember when Saltopia first started their business selling at markets. Their outstanding turkey brine is available in two varieties: Turkey Time Brine, and Smoky Garlic Brine. Oh, and don't miss the limited edition - 'Thanksgiving Leftovers' infused sea salt.
