Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We thank Jeff Caruso from the Virginia Catholic Conference for his presence with us on Tuesday’s Live from the Couch. If you missed his presentation, the letter from our Bishops, and the voter’s guide published by the Conference you can find it by clicking this link

Here’s the news for the upcoming weeks:

Next week, the full contingent of daily Masses at Saint Bede will be offered in-person including on Monday and Saturday. All Masses are scheduled at 9:00 am in the Nave. For the present, Masses on Monday through Friday will be live-streamed.  Mass on Saturday will be in person only.

Also beginning next week, following the Masses on Monday and Friday,  a silent Holy Hour will be held. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the Monstrance and placed on the Main Altar, incense will be used and, at 10:45 am, Benediction will end this time of prayer. The live-stream will remain on until shortly after Benediction.

Mark your calendars:

Blood Drive in Kaplan Parish Hall sponsored by our Parish Nurses on Friday, October 23 from 9:00 to 2:00. Register on the Red Cross website. Walk-ins will also be accommodated.

On Sunday, October 25, following our regular 5:00 pm Mass, a HOLY HOUR for our nation’s healing will take place in the Nave. This will be an opportunity for us to be together and to pray for those suffering -physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially- from the effects of Covid 19; to pray for racial justice and healing; for the safety of the upcoming elections and the aftermath; and victims suffering from this year’s natural disasters (fires, hurricanes, and tornadoes, etc).

Well, that is all for now. Have a wonderful weekend!

-Monsignor Joe
