Friends,

Greetings on this blessed feast of St. Augustine! Like Fr. John, in the absence of our pastor, I’m taking the reins this week to provide you with an update on the life and times of our beloved parish.

First and foremost, our thanks once again for providing a warm welcome to Fr. Pascal Kumanda during his visit last weekend. It is always a joy to hear about the ministry that Cross Catholic Outreach provides to our brothers and sisters in need around the world, and we appreciate you helping him feel at home.

In addition, we have some good news to share: Registrations for all Faith Formation, including Youth Ministry, and registration for sacramental preparation (Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation) will be open as of early next week. Please be on the lookout for updates from our staff. Faith Formation will begin at the end of September in order to give your families some time to adjust to new schedules.

Finally, here are several events and opportunities for you to consider as a way to directly support our local parish community and the global Church:

  • During this weekend’s Masses, we will be taking up a special collection as part of a diocesan initiative to support those affected in Lebanon by the explosion in Beirut. If you would like to donate on Sunday, you can do so either by contributing in cash, or by designating in the memo line of your check that you would like your donation to support the special collection.

  • We hope to hold a food drive on Labor Day weekend to support the House of Mercy. More info will be forthcoming - mark your calendars!

  • Please continue to remember the House of Mercy in your generosity, whether in your donations of money and food or in your time as a volunteer if you able. Their ministry plays an essential role in the life of our community, and your generosity is what makes this mission possible!

Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the encouragement and support you give us as your clergy and staff. We couldn’t do it without you.

As always, please know of our prayers –

In Christ,

 Fr. Cassidy Stinson

P.S. – Many have inquired about our special guest from this week’s Clergy Live. Regrettably, we may have misled some of our viewers: while she will not be a permanent resident at the rectory, we hope she may be able to make another appearance someday...
