Thank You! to all who so generously donated professional clothing for the Thrift Shop at St. Mary Star of the Sea. Several car loads of clothing were delivered after the collections of the past two weekends. A few people made their own drop-offs adding to the donations.

Thank you for this amazing response to help the newly arrived migrants. We are so grateful. We also want to thank the drivers and deliverers, Kathy Reynolds, Ellen Rios, Kevin Mulcahy, Carole Fabrizio, and Kathy Lynch-Gaffney. Stay tuned to learn about the upcoming coat drive!

Receiving the Eucharist

The last time that many of us received instruction on receiving the Eucharist was when we prepared for our First Communion. That may have been a long time ago! Brush up on your technique and refresh your understanding of the Eucharist by watching this video: https://youtu.be/qdGkTdv4Dt4?feature=shared

Youth Altar Server Training for both parishes

Fr. Mark Paul will hold a training for young people interested in serving as Youth Altar Servers. Youth Altar Servers contribute to the beauty of our worship and engage their faith in action. Altar servers volunteer as often as they like and their schedules allow. They must have completed their First Communion and be in 4th grade or older. If your child is interested but cannot make this training, please email Coleen coleen.mcgrath@gmail.com, for ABVM or Marcela marcelah@aol.com, for St. Boniface.

Adult Faith Formation, Small Groups

Oratory Small Groups will be resuming weekly meetings! We hope you will consider joining a small group. A faith-sharing group is a small gathering of parishioners who come together to discuss and share their faith. Often based on the Sunday scripture readings, it's a supportive environment where folks walk with one another on their faith journey. There are several groups that are open to new members. Interested? Please sign up! https://forms.gle/kTYLaNaMHcx2WCmLA

Are you high school or college-aged and never completed the sacraments of Holy Communion or Confirmation in the Catholic faith?

We invite you to become part of the“Carlo Acutis Program,”which will assist you in your faith journey. The program begins in February and lasts 8 weeks during Lent and Easter Seasons. It culminates in May with the reception of HolyCommunion and Confirmation. If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, or if you have any questions, please get in touch with Fr. Vin Biagi, S.J. atvbiagi@oratorychurch.org.

Undivide Us

Join us for a special screening of Undivide Us on Sunday, October 27 at 1pm. The documentary is about how regular people can respond to toxic polarization, where politicians, traditional media, and social media fan the flames of toxic partisanship, undermining the values and institutions that unite us.

The screening will be held at Plymouth Church Gym, 75 Henry Street, Brooklyn Heights. After the film, there will be a talkback with filmmaker Kristi Kendall, and an interfaith community tea party hosted by neighborhood churches, synagogues and mosques. Event is free, but tickets are required. Tickets available here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/watch-undivide-us-at-plymouth-church-tickets-956388883897
