January Newsletter
Dear Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito Family,

Despite the recent tragic events and deep unrest occurring across the nation, I write this letter with hope. Each year at this time I write a letter to our members, supporters and community to express my gratitude for being able to serve this incredible organization as CEO since 2015. The challenges of this year have been unlike any other, and if anything, I am even more proud and grateful because of all we have been able to accomplish and overcome as an organization and as a community. Together, we have kept the doors to Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito open, and together, we have created a community of support for our youth. Read More

Holiday Recaps!
The holidays at BGC San Dieguito looked a little different this year, but the end result remained the same: an experience filled with joy, laughter and FUN!
Sponsor A Child For The Holidays
While the holidays are often thought of as a happy time, the reality for some of our members is quite different, with feelings of sadness, frustration, and uncertainty due to financial unrest and food insecurity. Our Sponsor A Child Program this holiday season helped relieve some of those emotions for over 60 families throughout Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Encinitas & Solana Beach. Donations of presents, food, and gift cards were abound from individuals as well as organizations throughout our community. Read More
La Colonia's Christmas Craft Class With Santa
The format of this year’s La Colonia Holiday Family Event was altered to ensure the health and safety of all. On Thursday, December 10, 2020 the children and staff at BGC San Dieguito La Colonia Clubhouse “zoomed” in with Del Mar Rotary members during their after-school programs to enjoy craft making, music, treats and a visit from Santa. The party featured craft sessions led by a handful of Rotarians teaching the children how to make their own jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and sculptures. BIG thank you to Del Mar Rotary for their time, effort and support in ensuring our kids had a fun and memorable holiday experience.
Griset Drive-Thru With Santa Event
In lieu of the traditional Breakfast with Santa, members and their families were invited to attend a drive-thru event featuring a meet-n-greet with Santa. Activities included photo op with Santa, picking out a “stuffy” from Santa’s toy box and taking home gift bags which included breakfast gift cards to a local eatery. Over 30 families drove through the event, held Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the Griset Clubhouse parking lot in Encinitas. Big thank you to our Griset Board for donating and assisting in handing out stuffies and setting up the event décor.
BGC San Dieguito Staff Keeps Current on Safety and CPR
Safety is always a priority at The Club. Our annual CPR certification class was moved outdoors this year. The three-hour training held Saturday, December 12th, gave up-to-date information and hands-on practice of CPR and first aid protocol to 17 of our employees.
Thank You To Our 2021
