REI grant for Settlers Cabin Park

Local outdoor recreation retailer REI has awarded a $21,700 grant to the Allegheny County Parks Foundation to help restore the trail leading to the popular waterfall feature at Settlers Cabin Park. The waterfall is a destination spot and the trail will benefit from planned stabilization measures.
ACPF is also designing a treatment system to remediate acid mine drainage in Pinkertons Run, in the expectation that it will eventually sustain fish.
