Opportunity through Education

Kiwimbi Trekkers Enjoyed a Sunny Day Outdoors
This past weekend, some of our Kiwimbi friends trekked five miles on the Appalachian Trail to Sunrise Mountain and back in support of our
Food for Thought  program.  This  program provides school lunches to nearly 200 students, keeping the children nourished and focused throughout the school day.

A special thanks to all of our trekkers, Kessiah - our  Twisted Treks  hike and yoga guide, and Jose and Sue  Salsberry for generously sponsoring this outing.  By participating in this event, you have all enabled children to focus more on their studies and less on the worry of finding food. Success on their Grade Eight National exams shapes a positive educational course for the rest of their lives.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Kiwimbi creates opportunity through education. One technique we use to accomplish this is our lunch program.  Food, which is scarce for some families, is essential to children's growth, development, and progress in school. By providing lunches in addition to educational resources at schools and at our Library, we give kids an opportunity to progress in school and expand their long-term possibilities beyond subsistence farming. Now they can stay at school and use the time and energy saved to focus on learning!
Kiwimbi's lunch program enables students to focus at school - click on one of the links below to learn more about Food for Thought , and to change lives!
