Two Influential Local Leaders Join the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District Board of Directors

WORCESTER, MA The Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate McEvoy and Joffrey Smith as new members of its Board of Directors. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the BID’s Board.

"We are thrilled to have Kate and Joffrey join the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District’s Board of Directors," said Downtown Worcester BID Board Chair Julie Holstrom. "Their experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission of promoting economic growth and vitality in Downtown Worcester."

Kate McEvoy is the Vice President of Corporate Relations for UMass Memorial Health Care, one of the largest health care providers in Central Massachusetts. With over 20 years of experience in health care administration, she has worked on a variety of initiatives to improve health care outcomes for the community. As a Board member, Kate will bring her expertise in corporate relations and community engagement to help the Downtown Worcester BID continue to grow, and support businesses and organizations in the downtown area.
 
"I am honored to join the Downtown Worcester BID Board of Directors," said McEvoy. "I am excited to work with the Board, staff, and community partners to help promote economic growth and development in Downtown Worcester, and to support the businesses and organizations that make our community such a special place."

Joffrey Smith is the CEO of Joffrey Smith Financial Group and Concordia Exchange, which recently opened its new headquarters in Downtown Worcester. With over 20 years of experience in financial services, he has built a successful financial planning firm and recently founded an insurtech startup company upon earning his MBA from Cornell University. As a Board member, Joffrey will bring his expertise in business development and financial management to help Downtown Worcester BID attract new businesses and investment to the area.

"I believe Downtown Worcester has tremendous potential, and I am excited to work with the BID’s Board to help unlock that potential and make our downtown an even more vibrant and dynamic neighborhood,” said Smith. “I am thrilled to be joining the Downtown Worcester BID Board of Directors.”

The Downtown Worcester BID is committed to supporting and promoting the downtown business community, and the addition of Kate McEvoy and Joffrey Smith to the Board of Directors is a testament to that commitment.
