About Asylum April Fools
What started as an April Fool joke has now become a reality! This Asylum Nine 9x90 April Fools' Gordo cigar is made in Honduras. Outside, you'll find a Honduran Maduro wrapper. Inside, the binder is Honduran, and the filler is Honduran. This is a Gordo cigar with a length of 9.00 and a ring gauge of 90. Turns out, the perfect novelty gift for a cigar smoker also turns out to be a pretty good smoke! This show-stopping cigar will be sure to turn heads on any occasion. This full-bodied Nicaraguan puro made by Christian Eiroa brings forth a spicy and peppery flavor with an exceptionally long finish. As compared to the Fuente Double Chateau and the Fuente Short Story (see picture above), this is a massive cigar but also has a great flavor profile!

About CAO Amazon Basin Extra Anejo
In 2014, CAO Cigars released a limited edition cigar known as the CAO Amazon Basin. The cigar incorporated rare low-yield tobacco from Brazil known as Bragança. Since then the Amazon Basin has seen some subsequent releases and several off-shoot projects. Now General Cigar will bring a different interpretation of the Amazon Basin blend known as the CAO Amazon Basin Extra Añejo. This features Amazon Basin cigars that were rolled in 2021 and aged for an additional two years. Extra Añejo means “extra aged”. The Amazon Basin Extra Añejo was aged in a room lined with Spanish cedar. According to General as the tobaccos aged, some of the cigar’s nuances mellowed and other notes became more pronounced. The Bragança tobacco is named for a region in Brazil. This tobacco is organically grown on unspoiled tropical land and harvested only once every three years. The seedlings are transplanted directly into the soil a full yard apart. As a result, the yield is half of the other tobacco plants. All of these factors lead to Bragança being rare tobacco. The Amazon Basin Extra Añejo features the same blend as the original Amazon Basin. In addition to the Brazilian Braganca tobacco, the filler features Dominican and Colombian tobaccos. The remainder of the blend features a Nicaraguan binder and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. It is presented in 18-count boxes with a total production of 5,800 boxes set for the U.S. market. Production comes from STG Estelí in Estelí, Nicaragua.
