Two More Classes Added:
Folksy Fiddle & Banjo Jam
The Tippecanoe Arts Federation is excited to announce two additional classes have been added to the spring After School Arts Program! In partnership with the Indiana Fiddlers' Gathering, TAF will be offering:

Folksy Fiddle
Grades 4 - 8
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
February 5 – April 9

Teachers from the Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering will introduce the basics of performing fiddly folk songs. Ideal for students interested in the violin, this class will teach basic techniques in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Students will be able to borrow a violin from TAF for this class.


Banjo Jam
Grades 5 - 12
Tuesdays, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
February 5 – April 9

Learn to strum a tune on the banjo by learning the mechanics, playing by ear, and jamming with other students. Participants will study with the legendary Howie Clark, focusing on Bluegrass, Old-time, and Dixieland music. Students will be able to borrow a banjo from TAF for this class.




ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The After School Arts Program (ASAP) provides equitable and enhanced access to the arts. ASAP offers free classes covering the full spectrum of creative disciplines: visual, performing, literary, and culinary. ASAP aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth in our community, reinforce academics, improve self-esteem, and inspire creativity. All ASAP classes are free!

Please note that Spring 2019 classes will not take place at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation due to construction, check out our website for location information!

About the Tippecanoe Arts Federation
The Tippecanoe Arts Federation is the umbrella organization and arts council for 14 counties. TAF provides educational opportunities in the visual, performing, and literary arts, outreach programs for both underserved and at-risk youth, and funding for capital and operational expenses to fellow arts organizations region wide.
