We are thrilled to announce two significant updates to our Certification program that will enhance your teaching capabilities and meet the growing demands of AcroDance!

Aerial and Back Handspring Certification



We are elevating our popular Aerial and Back Handspring Workshop to a Certification. This change reflects the increasing importance of these skills in AcroDance and provides a more comprehensive learning experience.


This course focuses on spotting techniques, providing ample time to practice and become comfortable with the timing and feel of spotting side aerials, front aerials, and back handsprings.


Key Details:

  • 1 Day, 6.5 hour training
  • Live, In Person only
  • Practical Testing for ABHS held at end of Course
  • This course is a prerequisite for Module Two Certification


Prerequisites:

  • Module One with a current and active license (confident spotting front and back walkovers, and cartwheels)
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Teachers are required to attend this course with a student(s) who has mastered the basic progressions leading up to side aerials and back handsprings, for example, one hand cartwheel, back Arabian limber, handstand shoulder shrugs, front walkover, hold handstand on the wall/plank for 1 minute.


Requirements: To complete ABHS Certification, participants must attend the course and complete a practical exam and complete practical hours (25-100 hours, depending on the practical exam results) which are required for Module 2 Certification.


This Certification is ideal for teachers who want to gain confidence in spotting these skills and is required for entering students into exams up to Level 8.

*New* Back Tuck & Back Layout (BTBL) Certification



We are launching a new Certification course focused on Back Tuck and Back Layout skills.


This 8-hour course is designed to equip you with the necessary progressions and drills to help your dancers achieve these advanced skills safely and effectively.


There is also a lot of time scheduled to practice and become comfortable with the timing and feel of back tuck and back layout spotting.


Key Details:

  • 1 Day, 8 hour training
  • Live, In Person only


Prerequisites:

  • Module Two Certification with a current and active license (may be In Training)
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Recommended: 4-5 years of acro teaching experience
  • Certified in Aerial and Back Handspring Certification and Module Two Teachers Certification (may be In Training)
  • Attendance with a dancer who is Level 8 or higher dancer demonstrator who has mastered the progressions leading up to back tuck and back layout. For example, side aerial, roundoff back handspring, cartwheel back handspring step out, hold a handstand for 1 minute, 25 handstand shoulder shrugs, 15 consecutive V-snaps, 10 push-ups.


Requirements: To complete BTBL Certification, participants must attend the course, complete a practical exam, and complete practical hours (25-100 hours, depending on the practical exam results).


Examination Privileges: Teachers who are BTBL Certified can register dancers for exams in any level, expanding your studio's offerings and student progression.*


This Certification is ideal for teachers who want to gain confidence in spotting these skills and is required for entering students into exams at the Pre-Professional levels.


*Certified teachers in good standing who maintain their Certification and have passed the the M2 training as of January 1, 2025 will have the exam requirements grandfathered allowing them to enter dancers in any level of examination.
