Two Piedmont Educators Selected as Recipients of a $10,000 Fund for Teachers Grant
Jammie Kimmel & Laura Pope
Piedmont Public Schools is proud to announce the selection of Jammie Kimmel, elementary LEAP teacher, and Laura Pope, Northwood Elementary music teacher, for a $10,000 professional development grant through Fund for Teachers.

Fund for Teachers supports educators' efforts to develop skills, knowledge, and confidence that impact student achievement through funding teacher-designed fellowships. According to its website, Fund for Teachers has invested $35 million in nearly 9,200 teachers since 2001.
This grant will allow Kimmel and Pope to travel to Europe to study classical period music and literature during the summer of 2023. This two-week experience will take them to different cultural landmarks, art museums, and more in Germany, France, Italy, and Austria. Both teachers hope to share their experiences with students through engaging lessons with a personal touch when they return to district classrooms next school year.

Congratulations to two outstanding educators! We are eager to see the impact your experiences make on our students.
