Welcome to the second half of 2020! How many of you are like me, just want to hit a fast-forward button and move onto 2021?
It is hard these days not to strike up a conversation by commenting about what are going on around us (an invisible virus, palpable racial injustice, and everything in between) and ending the conversation with "Be safe!". Stressed and worried, anxious and frustrated, sad and angry... these maybe some emotions that we are currently feeling a little more often than usual.
Think about where you fit on the emotional pinwheel each day, then find the tools and skills that work best to help you reach the optimal emotional balance that is important for maintaining mental and physical health. Without that, our personal life will suffer and therefore also will our work.
For myself, I've chosen to focus on self-care. For instance, I have been spending more time hiking up in the mountains. It is during those moments, surrounded by nature, that I have found inner peace, clarity, and hope. Learning to be still within my head space helps me manage anxiety and stress.
Discover your own self-care strategies to find peace, courage, and compassion. Be patient and kind to yourself and others.
The light in me salutes the light in you! Take good care of yourself and each other!
