TWO NEW ON-LINE COURSES

Autumn 2026

I am delighted to be offering two new courses for on-line students for this Autumn 2026.

I have been beavering away planning one that explores the enormous scale of work produced by the wonderful Paul Klee and have now got what I feel is an exciting on-line course. Because of the wealth of work he produced over a relatively short life span I have divided this into two separate courses, the second of which will be on offer early next year.

The second new course for this term which has been on my website for a while now is Dorothy Tuckers kantha course, 'Going Round in Circles'.

For details and booking of these courses see below.

But first news of the new exhibition 'Unmaking' with accompanying workshops that the Textile Study Group is bringing to the Museum in the Park, Stroud, GLS 4AF on 12th September to 8th November 2026. For details see either website below.

Work by Dorothy Tucker

Jenny O'Leary

3rd and 4th September 2026

This course will be running but I just has just had a cancellation if anyone was thinking of doing this.

This course uses the technique of batik (hot wax resist) and uses Jenny’s contemporary approach, and other resists such as oil pastels, cold wax and stencils to create lots of samples and pieces of work inspired by trees. Working on different surfaces such as tissue and found papers and fabric. You will work with waxes, bleach and inks to create fabulous textures and effects, exploring markmaking with traditional and non traditional tools inspired by our observations of trees. The layering of wax, inks, and bleach on tissue, papers, and fabric will each give different effects. We will also look at the work of artists such as David Hockney and Vincent Van Gogh and their use of colour, mark making and texture and use it for inspiration. An exciting course allowing for exploration and discovery. The work will be suitable for further development in many different ways such as adding stitch.

Work by Jenny O'Leary

We had to have our lovely Jez put down last week and we all miss him so much. He became very poorly very suddenly and the vets couldn't help him. It is very strange without him around.

Here he is our 'free' crow that lived here a couple of years ago as well. They were great and caring friends together!!!

Have a good week.
