Request STEM Professionals for Classrooms/Programs!
We’re pushing STEM volunteer and mentor needs out to a wide network of STEM professionals on September 6th. If your classroom or organization has a need for a STEM volunteer or mentor (or a team of them!), enter your request into Texas STEM Connections by the morning of September 5th to be included. Find instructions for how to enter a request for a volunteer here.

Texas STEM Connections is a web-based tool that makes it easy for STEM professionals to connect with K-20 educators, classrooms, out of school time programs, and other volunteer opportunities. Professionals can share their skills and expertise to bring real-world, authentic learning opportunities to all our students helping to create the next generation of innovators. Through in-person matches and virtual sessions, professionals can help educators and program providers connect their students to the world of STEM. Together we can make a difference.

The theme of this year's conference is "Learn, Play, Action". Our goal for this theme is to promote the idea of technology integration as a playful and ongoing process for teachers as well as students. We wish to bolster educator confidence and self-efficacy in trying new things. The sessions are geared towards empowering educators with not only the tools, but also the knowledge of how to incorporate innovative instructional technology. The conference is free and attendees will receive CPE credit hours. There will be breakfast provided and door prizes.

The prestigious annual contest recognizes outstanding information technology companies and individuals in the North Texas area who have made contributions during the past year locally. We are especially excited about showcasing our STEM teaching talent in North Texas -- without these teachers, we would not have the workforce for tomorrow.

Have you ever wanted to participate in a summer research experience? Join us for E3 and spend 2.5 weeks working alongside Texas A&M Engineering faculty and students researching cutting edge technology and create a project-based lesson based on your research to bring back to your classroom. This annual program is funded by faculty grants, and the number of open positions for teachers and the available research subjects vary from year to year.

Applications due April 6th
High school math, science, and CTE teachers are invited to apply to the Camp SOAR Teacher Internship at Texas A&M University. Teachers will explore the field of aerospace engineering alongside high school students and world-renowned faculty through design projects and cutting-edge research lab tours. Teachers will leave the program with a variety of engaging aerospace engineering projects to bring back to their home campus.

The STEM Center at The University of Texas at Austin is excited to announce that our first week long WeTeach_CyberSecurity GenCyber Summer Camp for high school teachers will be held at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) in Austin from June 11-15, 2018. The camp will provide an opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of the field of cybersecurity, its importance in this day and age, and how it represents a great opportunity for kids interested in high tech careers. Teachers who attend will receive training in a number of areas related to cybersecurity that they can take back to the classroom.

An EngineerGirl Ambassadorship is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in your community. Ambassadors will receive training and networking opportunities at the Society of Women Engineers National Conference in Minneapolis, MN, up to $250 in project funding, the opportunity to be considered for a $1000 scholarship, and more!

Join our K-12 STEM Outreach Google Groups! These email groups (open and moderated listservs) are all about sharing resources, information, events, volunteers, needs, and more with others reaching out to K-12 students aiming to excite them about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
