Early this morning we lost a dear friend, Project STIRTM trainer, and COOL Board Member after a short and sudden illness. Ty gave her all in everything she did. She will be remembered for her energy, kindness, determination, and love. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Below are some words written by her longtime friend and coach Kelli Bader.
"Ty loved Project STIR and it gave her the confidence and strength to express herself. She was particularly fond of the Spiral method and enjoyed helping me and anyone in need, work through every issue using this method. She felt acceptance and happiness with fellow Ohio leaders and embraced the mission to make a difference. One of her goals included speaking at the Statehouse on DD Awareness Day and eventually working her way to the White House.
She was the President of our Aktion Club and her Presidential Project was to find sponsorships and place a Little Free Library in the shape of a fire truck in memory of her Grandfather who was a former Fire Chief in the park in Zanesfield, Ohio. She recently organized a Halloween Dance with the Aktion Club and collected sponsorships from local restaurants. It was a hit and we were so happy to all be able to get together in person and in a large group.
The Logan County Board of DD along with RTC Services will be sponsoring a group named, The Purple Squirrels (Ty's spirit animal) to continue the advocacy work Ty was pursuing. She was on a mission to help others make an impact and be healthier. She recently celebrated a year without soda pop.
Ty was a force of nature. I miss my Friend. "
We will be honoring Ty tomorrow during our Statewide Project STIRTM network meeting at 11am. We will set aside time for those who knew her to share stories about Ty and how much impact she made in her short time with us. Below is the Zoom link.
