One of their larger projects including supporting the "Take a Seat" campaign which got new seating in the MPR. Thanks to their support and the funds raised, the first two sections of new seating were installed last fall and the third section was ordered in December bringing the total raised to $164,448.

8. English Spotlight
Behind the Mask in Literature
“The mask was a thing on its own, behind which Jack hid, liberated from shame and self-consciousness”(Golding 64). Like the masks in Lord of the Flies, each sophomore honors student in Ms. Pavelka’s class created a mask to depict symbolic elements of the “face” the public sees on the outside and elements of the “face” that depicts how each individual really is on the inside. Masks allow us to choose how the world sees us and we put them on everyday. Students will discuss the choices made to create the projects next week and analyze their relationship to the characters in Golding’s novel.
9. Student Spotlight
Los Hermanos 2020 Group from Palos Verdes High School was giving back at Habitat For Humanity LA.
