U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross is meeting with officials and business leaders during his current Turkey trip.
Turkish Deputy Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar will be traveling to New York and Washington, D.C. September 16-September 20, 2019.
Turkish President Erdogan will be in New York for the United Nations General Assembly and will meet on the sidelines with U.S. President Trump September 22-25, 2019.
The 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 74) will open on September 16, 2019.
The first day of high-level General Debates will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Syrian Safe Zone
THO welcomes the latest developments in Syria with the news of the U.S. and Turkey conducting joint safe zone patrols in Northeastern Syria. The two NATO allies working together further demonstrates the importance of cooperation and collaboration between the allies for the security and success of the region.
Turkey Travel Level Caution Lowered

THO recently hosted top academicians and university leaders and conducted meetings with U.S. Officials including officials at the U.S. Department of State. The meetings were extremely productive in discussing the importance of supporting the exchange of both ideas and students between the U.S. and Turkey to further support the bilateral relationship. 
 
THO welcomes the news that the level of travel caution has been lowered, and is eager to see a return of robust exchange of culture, ideas, and continued encouragement of programs between these two allies.
