August Legislative Interim Recap
Legislators reconvened at the Capitol this week for August interim meetings. Three separate committees held hearings about data centers, with legislators learning more about how water, energy, and tax policy intersect with these projects. UAC continues to work to be a resource for legislators who are seeking to understand these complex policies.
As we move into fall, the UAC team is watching for more bill drafts, and will share opportunities for feedback during Policy Steering Committees. Please ensure that you are making these meetings a priority so that your voice is included in UAC's advocacy on the hill as legislators prepare for session. Laura is available to update your registration if you'd like to try a new PSC this week!

STATS Web Portal Launch
At STATS, our mission centers on How We Serve Utah, and the launch of the STATS Web Portal is one of the latest examples of that commitment in action. While still in its early stages, the portal represents an important step forward in how we deliver services, information, and technology solutions to citizens, counties, state agencies, and industry partners. Designed as a growing platform, the portal will continue to evolve as new resources and capabilities are added to better meet the needs of those we serve.
The portal reflects STATS' work across three key service areas: Public Services & Outreach, County and State Services, and Industry Reporting. From helping citizens connect with government services and information, to supporting local and state government operations, to providing industry data and reporting solutions that support decision-making, STATS is committed to delivering practical tools that create value throughout Utah. The STATS Web Portal brings these efforts together in a modern, accessible platform that will continue to expand as our services grow.
While this launch is an exciting milestone, it is also just the beginning. The portal represents STATS' ongoing investment in innovation, collaboration, and service, providing a foundation for future tools and resources that will strengthen our ability to serve Utah's governments, businesses, and communities for years to come.
Limited information is currently available at STATS.utah.gov, with additional information and resources launching September 1.
